This exquisite lightship basket clutch, handwoven by basket maker Dave Brown in an elegant oval shape, features a prehistoric woolly mammoth ivory plaque set against beautiful rosewood wood, adorned with contemporary scrimshaw by local artist and native Morgan Sayle. The basket is lined with black velour, complete with a side pocket for convenient storage of your belongings. A secure closure is provided by a mammoth ivory peg.
The scrimshaw on the front features a nautical mermaid, gracefully swimming forward through the water with her arms outstretched. Her tail is a captivating shade of green, complemented by flowing blonde hair down her back. This scrimshaw piece is also signed by the artist and dated with the year.
